"Twelve Phenomenal Imaginations: Women Who Think Differently"
Description: Certain images are
indelibly marked upon the spirit and
memory of individuals and entire
communities of people. Such images
deepen questions of personal and
collective identity and serve as visual
counterpoints to new ways of thinking
and dreaming about the human heart
and intellect. Images that have acted
as a catalyst for deepening questions
of essential personal and mutual identity
will be presented and discussed.
The focus of this presentation will be
works of art created by twelve
extraordinary women. Beginning with the
silvery sculpture of Cornelia Parker
and concluding with the luminous,
color-saturated photographs of Angelica
Daas, this visual presentation will
celebrate the phenomenal imaginations
of twelve stunningly different women;
women who give profound credence to
the popular maxim, THINK DIFFERENTLY!
