Advice for writers
Make sure you have a plan and a clear thesis before you start writing. It’s easy to add unnecessary sentences into your paper as fillers, but these will most likely take away from your overall argument. Making an outline prior to starting the paper helps you stay on track. Stick to your thesis and be sure that everything you write relates back to your one main idea.

How do you get started on a writing assignment?
Before I begin writing I make sure I have a detailed outline and a strong main point. That way I can make sure that I’m including everything I wanted to in the final product. I tend to start with the body paragraphs and do the introduction last so I can be sure that I am giving a good summary of what my paper will be about in the first paragraph.
