Jamie Karp Waroff

Jamie Waroff joined the faculty at St. Norbert College in the fall of 2018. She teaches trumpet, brass ensemble, world music and music education courses.

As an active performer, Professor Waroff can be heard playing trumpet as a member of the Weidner Center Philharmonic in Green Bay, and as a member of the Siletz Bay Music Festival Orchestra in Lincoln City, Ore. She has previously been featured as a soloist with both the Portland Columbia Symphony and the Portland Wind Symphony. In addition to having served as principal trumpet with the Portland Columbia Symphony, she has performed with the Dudley Birder Chorale and Orchestra, Birder Players, Mock’s Crest Opera, Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, Portland Choir and Orchestra, Newport Symphony Orchestra, Portland Chamber Orchestra, Enlightened Theatrics, Cheyenne Symphony Orchestra, and the Wyoming Symphony Orchestra. She can also be heard on numerous recordings on the GIA and Klavier labels as a member of the renowned University of North Texas Wind Symphony.

Professor Waroff is a licensed music educator and teaches trumpet at the Green Bay East High School Fine Arts Institute. Prior to her appointment at St. Norbert College, she taught general music in Portland, Ore. She holds certifications in World Music pedagogy from the Smithsonian Folkways Institute, World Music Drumming, and Conversational Solfege from the Feierabend Association for Music Education.

Professor Waroff has also previously served on the faculty at Laramie County Community College, as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Wyoming, and as a Teaching Fellow at the University of North Texas.
