Marc completed his undergraduate work at Augustana College in Rock Island, Ill., and received a Ph.D. in applied economics from Western Michigan University. Marc’s graduate studies specifically concentrated in monetary economics and econometrics. Prior to a career in academia, Marc worked in finance for both a fund company and an institutional investment manager. Aside from teaching courses in macroeconomics, international finance and money and banking, Marc conducts research on the behavior of financial intermediaries and their impact on economic activity.

Research Interests
Marc’s research interests include monetary and financial economics, and financial institutions.
