Mike Hennessy is a member of the Madison Symphony Orchestra. In the past, he has been a principal and section member of the Green Bay Symphony Orchestra, Oshkosh Symphony Orchestra and Waukesha Symphony Orchestra. He has performed with the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra, Grand Rapids Symphony Orchestra, Milwaukee Ballet Orchestra and the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra. His most enjoyable experience was performing with the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra on a two-week tour of Japan. 

His primary teachers have been Steve Lester, Barry Green, Roger Ruggeri and David Phillips. He has held previous teaching positions at Lawrence Arts Academy and the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh.
