Welcome from the Vice President for Academic Affairs

It is my absolute pleasure to welcome you on behalf of everyone in academic affairs at St. Norbert College. It is a joy to share with you the unique, transformational experience we offer our students!

The foundation of the SNC academic experience begins with our curriculum, one grounded in the liberal arts – focused on empowering students with broad knowledge, transferable skills and strong values – while embracing leading-edge models of teaching and learning. Because we value collaboration and cross-disciplinary work, students customize their educational experiences in ways that best prepare them for their own futures.

Working side-by-side with award-winning faculty members, every SNC student can engage in thoughtful experiential learning such as research and scholarship; academic service-learning in and with local, national and international communities; study abroad and global seminars; and internships.

Together, these individualized and practical experiences help our students understand and encounter the world through multiple lenses, find their vocation, recognize the sacred dignity of all people and create a more compassionate and just world.

Community is at the heart of St. Norbert, with the Norbertine ideal of communio manifesting itself in every aspect of our curriculum and co-curricular opportunities, as well as our vibrant campus life. Our carefully constructed co-curricular experiences complement the curriculum, while fostering intellectual, personal and spiritual development. Even our buildings are thoughtfully designed as an expression of our mission – providing spaces that encourage collaboration and innovation, as well as quiet spaces that allow for critical-thinking and contemplation.

Communio is not just a slogan at SNC; it’s a meaningful and pervasively lived experience that unites everyone on campus toward student success. That’s why SNC graduates leave our campus with not just a diploma, but with the broad knowledge, transferable skills and impactful experiences necessary to lead productive and full lives.

As stewards of our Catholic and Norbertine traditions, we welcome students, faculty and staff from all faith traditions. We value our ethnic, racial, socioeconomic, gender and cultural differences. And we take great pride in providing a welcoming, inclusive and safe environment for everyone.

Ours is a truly vibrant learning experience. If you haven’t already, we invite you to visit campus to meet our faculty, take a tour and experience our Catholic, Norbertine and liberal arts traditions for yourself.
