International students

St. Norbert College

International students are welcome at SNC

St. Norbert College is known for its friendly community. If you’re an international student considering SNC, we think you’ll feel right at home despite the distance. Our international students cite our beautiful Wisconsin campus, small class sizes and superior academics, along with the numerous opportunities to get involved as reasons that they love SNC. With roughly 100 student clubs and organizations, intramural sports and varsity athletics teams and an active arts community, there’s always something to do on campus!

We offer generous scholarships and grants to help you pay for your college education here at SNC. All international student applicants will automatically be considered for academic merit awards. In addition, to help make SNC more affordable, we offer need-based grants and campus job opportunities for international students.

We review applications throughout the academic year on a rolling basis. To be considered for admission, please submit the following documents:

  1. St. Norbert College application or Common Application
  2. Official high-school/secondary-school transcripts (with English translation)
  3. Proof of English language proficiency
  4. Personal statement

Students transferring from another university must provide their official records.

  • From U.S. schools: Mail official transcripts directly to SNC.
  • From schools outside the U.S.: Mail official transcripts and a course-by-course transcript evaluation by a NACES-approved credential evaluation service.

You will receive your admission decision within two to four weeks of submitting your completed college application. Following acceptance, all international students are required to provide supporting documentation to verify adequate funding to pursue studies at SNC. Please follow these steps:

  1. Submit a copy of your passport photo page.
  2. Apply for need-based aid by submitting the SNC international grant application.
  3. Submit the financial sponsorship form and provide evidence of financial support.

If you have been accepted and provided the required financial paperwork, you are well on your way to becoming a Green Knight!

The international admission office is here to help you every step of the way, from application through enrollment. Please complete these tasks as soon as possible:

  • Confirm your intent to enroll at SNC by accepting your admission offer.
  • Review your I-20 admission package, pay your SEVIS fee and schedule your visa interview appointment.
  • Email a scanned copy of the U.S. visa when obtained, to SNC.
SNC is authorized under federal law to enroll non-immigrant students. International students must follow U.S. visa and immigration policies. If you have any questions after reviewing the information on this page, please contact the international admission office.

Additional proficiency options

  • Students are deemed proficient in English if they have attended and completed an American international school abroad with passing grades in English courses through the third year by the time their SNC application is reviewed, with an anticipated completion of English courses in the fourth year.
  • Students may be waived from the TOEFL or IELTS requirement, based on academic records, if they graduate from an English-only secondary school or an IB program.
  • Students don’t need to submit proof of proficiency if they have completed two semesters of U.S. college English coursework, with a grade of ‘B’ or better.
  • Students who have obtained an undergraduate degree or graduate degree from a recognized institution where English is the language of instruction don’t have to provide proof of proficiency.

Some students are not required to provide proof of English language proficiency. Find your country on the table below to determine what paperwork you must submit when applying to SNC.

The decision to waive the standard requirement for language proficiency is at the discretion of the International Admission Committee, and is based on the strength of the student’s academic performance. It is therefore recommended that you take either the TOEFL or IELTS test as part of the application process if your first language is not English.
