We understand how important it is for college to be affordable. Our very best advice? Apply for financial aid.
St. Norbert College provides sizable financial aid, and we’re here to help you discover the affordable path to a college education.
When it’s time to figure out how to pay for college, what’s the most important task on your to-do list? Fill out the FAFSA, of course!
If you don’t complete the FAFSA, you miss out on many potential sources of funding for college financial aid.
The application is a straightforward online form that’s managed by the federal government. Remember, the FAFSA is a free application. Even if you don’t think you’ll qualify for need-based aid, we encourage you to apply. You may be surprised!
Be sure to list SNC as a school of choice when you complete the FAFSA. The school code for SNC is 003892.
When you submit the FAFSA, the results will include your Expected Family Contribution, or EFC. The EFC is a measure of a family’s financial strength and ability to pay for college, determined by the federal government, and will help determine how much financial aid you are eligible for.
Financial need is the difference between the total cost of attendance (tuition, books, room and board and other fees) and your EFC. College financial aid offices use the data from your completed FAFSA to build aid offers that best fit your financial need. Each college uses its own methodology to calculate how much aid students are offered.
SNC looks carefully at your family’s EFC (associated with your FAFSA) to determine your level of need for the upcoming academic year. We factor in all of the information available to us, and put together a financial aid offer specifically for you.
We strongly suggest that you submit the FAFSA by the SNC priority filing date of Jan. 1, in order to be eligible for the most financial aid. Some sources of financial aid are limited, and those who submit applications received after Jan. 1 could miss out on certain types of funding.
If you’re an international student, please apply for financial aid by submitting the Application for International Student Funding. Be sure to check out our admission FAQ for international students.
If you’re an incoming student who applied for financial aid for the upcoming academic year, you could receive your financial aid decision letter as early as mid-December, based on when you completed your college application.
Returning students will receive their financial aid letters in April.
