St. Norbert Splits With Elmhurst and UW-Oshkosh

GREEN BAY - The St. Norbert College men's tennis team split a pair of meets against Elmhurst College and UW-Oshkosh.

The Green Knights, who currently stand at 2-3 on the season, defeated Elmhurst 9-0 before dropping an 8-1 count to UW-Oshkosh at Western Racquet Club.

St. Norbert swept the three doubles matches against Elmhurst, with Adrian Acosta and Ryan Kerswill winning at No.1 8-1, Chris Schmitz and Mike Hyrczyk winning at No. 2 8-0 and Eric Koppmann and Dan Richter took the win at No. 3 8-3.

Koppmann had the best match in singles play, beating Ryan Applegate 6-2, 6-0 at No. 4 singles. Schmitz ground out a marathon three-set win at No. 2 singles, beating Dave Douglass 5-7, 7-5, 13-11.

Acosta and Kerswill picked up the Green Knights' lone win against Oshkosh, beating Brandon Lepp and Brian Naidicz 9-7.
