DE PERE - St. Norbert College has named Jamie Kivi as an assistant women's hockey coach. Kivi, an Ashwaubenon native, graduated from Elmira College this past spring where she helped lead her team to three consecutive ECAC West Championships and three Division III NCAA Frozen Four appearances.

"I am thrilled to be back in my hometown and to be a part of the St. Norbert College's inaugural women's hockey yeam," Kivi said.

A finalist for the Laura Hurd Player of Year Award, Kivi's distinguished four-year career includes two All-American First Team selections, four-time ECAC West All-Conference Team, and was named to the All-Rookie Team as a freshman. In 30 games this past season Kivi tied for first on the team with 31 total points, 13 goals and 18 assists and her 1.03 points per game ranked her fourth nationally among defensemen. Kivi collected 94 total points, 25 goals and 69 assists in 117 games played.

"Jamie comes from a great program with a winning tradition and there's no doubt she played a tremendous role in her teams success," St. Norbert head coach Rob Morgan said. "Jamie played in all key situations; even strength, the penalty kill and power play. Our student-athletes are going to benefit from her knowledge and experiences."

"The past 4 years I had the opportunity to play hockey at the collegiate level so I know what it is like to be a player. I'm hoping to pass on to the team what I've learned as a student athlete so they can make an immediate impact on and off the ice," Kivi said.

Prior to Elmira College, Kivi played for the Wisconsin Wild U19 hockey club and attended Ashwaubenon High School where she helped guide her softball team to a Division I State Championship.

St. Norbert opens its season at 6 p.m. Oct. 29 starting against Bethel University at the Cornerstone Community Center's Resch Olympic Pavilion.
