Green Knights Fall to Vikings in MWC Opener

DE PERE - St. Norbert College opened Midwest Conference play with a 2-0 loss to Lawrence University in the first collegiate soccer game played at Kolstad Field at Schneider Stadium.

Lawrence (3-3, 2-0 MWC) scored at 39 minutes 18 seconds when Annie Kaiser finished a scramble in front of the net. The Vikings' Mallory Koula then had a blast from 31 years out find the back of the net with 50 seconds left to play.

The Green Knights (0-4, 0-1 MWC) had two decent scoring chances, one each in the late stages of each half.

Lawrence outshot St. Norbert 13-7, but corner kicks were even at 4-4. Cara Tazioli made seven saves for St. Norbert, while Cassie Burke made one stop to get the shutout for the Vikings.
