Burmesch Hat Trick Leads St. Norbert Past Lakeland

HOWARDS GROVE - Mike Burmesch scored a natural hat trick to snap St. Norbert College out of a scoring drough and led the Green Knights to a 6-0 non-conference win over Lakeland College.

St. Norbert, which had not scored more than one goal in any of its first five matches this season, improved to 2-4 with the win. The Muskies fell to 0-5-2.

Burmesch scored his first goal at the 15 minutes 45 seconds mark off assists from Petro Czerniak and Eric Natwick. Burmesch then connected on a penalty kick at 24:26, and followed with an unassisted marker at 32:45.

Nate Felhofer scored at 34:58 off an assist from Trevor Scales, and Wade Howard scored moments later at 36:16. Felhofer closed out the scoring with a goal at 46:16, assisted by Paul Fischer.

St. Norbert outshot Lakeland 16-9. Erik Tauschek made four saves in the first half for St. Norbert, while Brad Hammer made one in the second half. Alex Piekarski made one save for Lakeland.
