Scherer Stays Unbeaten as St. Norbert Finishes Fifth at Augustana Invitational

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - St. Norbert College senior Jenny Scherer remained unbeaten in three races this season with the individual championship of the Augustana College Brissman-Lundeen Invitational at Saukie Golf Course.

Scherer, who won the St. Norbert and Northern Illinois meet titles earlier this month, covered the 6,000-meter course ina time of 21 minutes 9.6 seconds to handily win. Truman State University's Dani Dell'orco, running for a NCAA Division II school, was 41 seconds back in second place.

The Green Knights placed fifth overall with 140 team points. NCAA Division I Northern Iowa won the invitational with 70 points, while UW-Stevens Point was second with 120. Olivet Nazarene was third with 123 points, and Truman State was fourth with 124.

Amanda Whipple placed 21st with a run of 23:14, and Carrie Trina was 27th with a time of 23:26. Kelsey Timm finished in 37th place with a time of 23:38, and Hannah Andrekus completed the Green Knights' scoring with a 60th-place finish in 24:11.

Elvia Martinez finished 76th with a time of 24:25, and Erin McShea finished in 87th with a time of 24:32. Erika Quinn also placed in the top 100 with a 98th-place showing in 24:41.
