St. Norbert Falls at Ripon

RIPON - St. Norbert College remained winless in the Midwest Conference with a 3-1 loss to Ripon College at Prairie Field.

The Green Knights (2-6, 0-2 MWC) fell behind 3-0 and couldn't recover. Ripon (6-2-1, 3-0 MWC) scored twice in the last 10 minutes of the first half to take a commanding 2-0 lead at halftime.

Taylor Smith put Ripon on the board at the 35:13 mark, and Austin Van Treeck scored at 41:01. The Red Hawks' Nick Zupan put home a penalty kick at 49:35 for the 3-0 bulge.

St. Norbert scored its only goal of the game at the 83:57 mark when Mike Burmesch scored his fourth goal of the year, scoring off an assist by Eric Natwick.

Ripon outshot St. Norbert 12-4 and had a 6-3 advantage in penalty kicks. Adam Haefner made two saves for Ripon. Erik Tauschek made four saves in net in the first half for St. Norbert, while Noah Davis had three in the second half.
