Green Knights Dominate Wisconsin Private College Invite as Scherer Stays Perfect

GREEN BAY - The St. Norbert College women's cross country team won its second meet of the season when it handily won the Wisconsin Private College Championship at Colburn Park.

The Green Knights dominated the field, posting a season-best 27 points. Viterbo University was the team runner-up with 55 points, and Concordia University Wisconsin was a distant third with 114 points.

St. Norbert senior Jenny Scherer remained unbeaten in five this season with another impressive performance. Scherer covered the 6K course in a time of 21 minutes 23 seconds, finishing well ahead of runner-up Bea Foley of Viterbo. Foley finished almost a minute back in 22:14.

The other four scorers for St. Norbert all finished fifth through eighth. Amanda Whipple posted a time of 23:41, followed by Kelsey Timm in 23:51. Carrie Trina finished in 23:57, and Hannah Andrekus was eighth in 24:05.

Elvia Martinez placed 12th with a time of 24:22, and Sara Hasenjager was 18th in a time of 24:53.
