Green Knights Place Fifth at MWC Championship

MONMOUTH, Ill. - St. Norbert College finished in fifth place at the 2010 Midwest Conference Championship held at Gibson Woods Golf Course.

The Green Knights totaled 104 points. Grinnell College won its 14th consecutive championship and its 24th in 25 years with a total of 28 points. Lawrence University was second with 81 points, Ripon College third with 93 points and Monmouth College was fourth with 95 points.

Alex DeVillers was St. Norbert's best finisher with a time of 26 minutes 25 seconds to finish in 15th place. Seth Hawkins was 19th with a time of 26:38, and Alex Kimble had the same time to finish in 20th. Mike Linzmeier was 24th with a time of 27:01, and Matt Reynders finished the Green Knights' scoring with a 34th-place finish in 27:18.

Nathan Heppe was St. Norbert's sixth finisher with a time of 27:40 to finish 42nd overall. James Gilbertson was 43rd with a time of 27:42.
