St. Norbert Drops Duals to UW-La Crosse, Winona State

LA CROSSE - St. Norbert College's men's tennis team lost dual meets to a pair of tough opponents, losing 9-0 to UW-La Crosse and 6-3 to NCAA Division II foe Winona State University.

The Green Knights (2-6) narrowly missed winning a couple of matches against La Crosse. Adrian Acosta and Ryan Kerswill lost a heartbreaking tiebreaker at No. 1 doubles, with Joey Van Lieshout and Dale Wroblewski posting the 9-8 (7-5) win for the Eagles.

At No. 2 singles, Van Lieshout narrowly clipped Schmitz by a 7-5, 7-5 score.

St. Norbert rebounded to take three matches against Winona State, including two doubles wins.

Chris Schmitz and Mike Hyrczyk beat Zach Williams and Stuart Booth 8-2 at No. 2 doubles, followed by Eric Koppmann and Dan Richter's 8-1 win over Taylor Rens and Tanner Bishop at No. 3 doubles.

Nate Tackaberry won St. Norbert's lone singles match, beating Joel Shields 6-2, 6-7 (5-7), 10-6 at No. 6 singles. Kerswill lost a three-set match to Rens at No. 5 singles 5-7, 6-2, 10-6.
