Scherer Earns All-America Honors at NCAA Cross Country National Meet

WAVERLY, Iowa - St. Norbert College senior Jenny Scherer picked up All-America honors with a third-place finish at the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championship at Wartburg College.

Scherer earned All-America accolades for the third time, becoming one of about 50 harries to achieve that accomplishment. Scherer covered the 6-kilometer course in a time of 21 minutes 8.9 seconds.

St. Lawrence's Wendy Pavlus claimed the national championship with a time of 20:49.3, while Williams' Jennifer Gossels was the runner-up with a time of 21:00.8.

Middlebury College was the team national champion with a team score of 185 points.

St. Norbert sophomore Amanda Whipple made her first appearance at the national meeting, finishing in 147th place. She had a time of 22:47.7.
