Green Knights Season Ends at UW-River Falls

RIVER FALLS - St. Norbert College had its inaugural women's hockey season end in a 7-1 loss to No. 1-ranked UW-River Falls in game two of a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association O'Brien Cup Playoffs quarterfinal series at Hunt Arena.
The Green Knights end their first year 12-11-4, and tied league champion River Falls twice. River Falls remained unbeaten on the year at 23-0-4.
Kait Mason scored twice in the first period to give the Falcons a 2-0 lead after the first 20 minutes. Zoe Kurth then scored a power-play goal at the 7:59 mark of the second period, but the Falcons would dominate from there.
Kayleigh Bell and Emma Nordness had goals sandwiched around a Katie Flanagan natural hat trick as the Falcons cruised to the win.
River Falls outshot St. Norbert 30-22. The Green Knights were 1-for-7 on the power play and the Falcons were 1-for-4. Kaley Gibson made 23 saves for St. Norbert, while Cassi Campbell made 21 stops for River Falls.
