St. Norbert to Host NCAA Division III Tournament Quarterfinal Game Saturday

DE PERE - St. Norbert College earned the top seeding in the West Region of the NCAA Division III Men's Ice Hockey Tournament for the ninth time in ten years and will host a quarterfinal-round game Saturday at the Cornerstone Community Center.

St. Norbert will face the winner of a first-round game between Hamline University (16-6-5) and UW-Superior (16-12-1) at 7 p.m. Saturday. The game between the Pipers and Yellowjackets will be played at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Wessman Arena in Superior. The winner of Saturday's quarterfinal will advance to the NCAA Division III Frozen Four on March 25-26 at Ridder Arena in Minneapolis.

The Green Knights (22-4-1) won the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association regular-season and Peters Cup championships. The Green Knights are an unblemished 13-0 at the Cornerstone Community Center this season.

This tournament appearance is St. Norbert's 12th, also making appearances in 1997, 1998, 1999, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007. 2008 and 2010, with all quarterfinal-round games except for 1997 coming at home. The Green Knights are 15-10-1 all-time in the NCAA tournament and won the 2008 national championship.
