AUBURNDALE, Fla. - St. Norbert College had its best performance of the young 2011 season with a 13-1 rout of Loras College at the Lake Myrtle Complex.

The Green Knights improved to 3-4 on the year winning their second straight game. Loras dropped to 2-2.

St. Norbert wasted little time jumping on the Duhawks, building a 9-0 lead after three innings. Matt Hannon and Garrick Fisher had back-to-back RBI doubles in the first for a 2-0 lead. Jared Yost had a three-run triple sandwiched between RBI singles by Chad Ljunggren and Ryan Way for a five-run second. Hannon had an RBI single and Fisher a sacrifice fly in the third for two more runs.

Loras scored a single run in the fourth before the Green Knights put the game away with a four-run seventh. Jordan Powers had an RBI single and Hannon a two-run double for the big blows in the inning.

Chris Hillesheim, making his first career collegiate pitching start and only his second appearance, shined on the mound. Hillesheim worked all seven innings and scattered six hits while walking just one and striking out eight.

The Green Knights rapped out 14 hits. Hannon was 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles, three runs scored and four RBIs. Powers was 2-for-2 with two runs scored, while Ljunggren was 2-for-2 with three runs scored. Fisher was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a double, while Yost finished 2-for-5 with three RBIs.
