St. Norbert Finishes Fourth at MWC Championship

ROCKFORD, Ill. - St. Norbert College ended up in fourth place at the Midwest Conference Championship held at Aldeen Golf Club.

The Green Knights carded a final 54-hole total of 984, shooting rounds of 336-316-332. The first round was played under rainy conditions, the second round under fair skies and the third round in heavy winds. Carroll University won its first MWC men's golf title with a 948, and the Pioneers' Eric Busalacchi was the meet champion with an 82-72-78--232. Monmouth College was second at 967 and Knox College third at 978.

Nic Vrubley was St. Norbert's top finisher, with an eighth-place finish in 82-77-82--241. B.J. O'Brien was 12th in 85-76-85--246. Brandon Gries finished in a 13th-place tie with a 248, carding rounds of 86-82-80.

Jacob Hebbard finished 17th with an 83-81-85--249, while Joe Hansen was tied for 28th in 91-88-88--267. Shawn Geier was tied for 30th with a 92-85-91--268.
