Green Knights Win First Meet of Season at Royal St. Patrick's

WRIGHTSTOWN - St. Norbert College's men's golf team picked up their first win of the 2011-12 season with a 19-stroke win at the St. Norbert Fall Invitational at Royal St. Patrick's Golf Links.

The Green Knights fired a solid 317, their best round of the year. St. Norbert finished well ahead of Ripon College, which was second with a 336.

Nic Vrubley won his second-straight meet, this time carding a 78. Vrubley won the tournament despite not shooting a birdie, but had 13 pars to win the tournament by a stroke.

Teammates Ryan Clark and Jacob Hebbard finished in a second-place tie, each shooting a 79. Clark birdied the 17th hole, while Hebbard bogeyed 17 and had a double bogey on 18 to finish out their rounds.

The Green Knights' Evan Mass birdied both 16 and 17 to finish in fourth place with an 81. Levi Krizenesky finished in a tie for 12th place with an 87.
