St. Norbert Wins Wisconsin Private College Invitational

LA CROSSE - St. Norbert College won the Wisconsin Private College Invitational for the second consecutive year with a sterling effort at Pettibone Park.

The Green Knights registered 45 points to narrow out runner-up Milwaukee School of Engineering, which had 50 points. Northland College's Adam Zais won the 8,000-meter race with a time of 26 minutes 23 seconds. A total of 78 runners competed at the meet hosted by Viterbo University.

Michael Heise led the Green Knights with a fifth-place finish in 27:42. Nathan Heppe was seventh in 27:51, while Benny Swift finished eighth in 27:51. Brady Bemis claimed 11th place with a time of 28:17, and Michael Linzmeier finished 14th with a time of 28:25.

Hayden Hoffmann placed 24th overall, running a time of 29:12. Alex Clemetson rounded out the Green Knights' top seven finishers with a 25th-pace finish in 29:13.
