St. Norbert Routs Milwaukee School of Engineering

DE PERE - St. Norbert College rebounding from its first loss of the season with a resounding 80-36 win over Milwaukee School of Engineering in a non-conference game on Connie Tilley Court at Schuldes Sports Center.

The Green Knights (2-1) recorded their third-largest margin of victory in school history with the 44-point win. MSOE's (1-2) 36 points were the fewest for a St. Norbert opponent since holding Rockford College to 35 points on Dec. 29, 2007.

The outcome was never in doubt. The Green Knights held a 16-8 lead with 9 minutes 48 seconds remaining and then went on a 12-0 run over the next four minutes to take a 28-8 lead. St. Norbert led 36-13 at halftime.

St. Norbert coach Gary Grzesk liberally used his bench in the second half, with only one Green Knight recording more than 20 minutes in the game - with 17 of Brandon Gries' 22 minutes coming in the first half. Fourteen of the 15 St. Norbert players who saw action scored, with Garrett Thorn's 16 points leading the way. Paul Appleton added 10 points, while Gries finished with nine.

The Green Knights shot 49.1 percent (27-for-55) from the floor and held a 36-31 rebounding advantage.

MSOE shot 25.5 percent (12-for-47) from the floor and was 0-for-14 on three-point field goal attempts. Oren Bloom led the Raiders with eight points.
