FOND DU LAC - St. Norbert College extended its modest winning streak to three games with a 5-1 win over Lawrence University in the first game of the MCHA/NCHA Thanksgiving Tournament at Marian University's Blue Line Family Ice Center.

The Green Knights (6-2-2) are now 31-0 all-time against Lawrence (3-1-3) dating back to St. Norbert's first year of varsity status in 1988-89.

St. Norbert wasted little time taking control of the game. Seth Soley beat a Lawrence defender to a potential icing call while on the power play and lifted a shot top-shelf 6 minutes 46 seconds into the game for his eighth goal of the season. Alain Joanette then lifted a shot past Lawrence goaltender Peter Emery at 8:22 for a 2-0 advantage.

The Green Knights pushed the edge out to 3-0 midway through the second period when Johan Ryd got a rebound off the endboards following a Zach McDonald drive and put it into a wide-open net at the 9:41 mark. Lawrence scored its lone goal at 10:35 when Brad Scurfield finished off a turnover in the St. Norbert defensive zone. St. Norbert would regain its three-goal lead at the 15:46 mark when Joanette finished an unassisted breakaway.

St. Norbert scored its final goal when Brandon Hoogenboom cleaned up a loose puck with 9:10 remaining in the game.

The Green Knights outshot the Vikings 39-31. St. Norbert was 2-for-5 on the power play, while Lawrence was 0-for-6. David Jacobson made 30 saves for the Green Knights, while Emery made 34 stops for the Vikings.
