Scherer's 10K Win Leads Women at Oshkosh Meet

OSHKOSH - Jenny Scherer won the 10,000-meter run to pace the St. Norbert College women's track and field team to a seventh-place tie at the UW-Oshkosh Invitational at Titan Stadium.

St. Norbert finished in a tie for seventh with Michigan Tech with 51 points. Host UW-Oshkosh won the meet with 219.5 points.

Scherer's time of 37 minutes 33 seconds in the 10K run bested the runner-up by over a minute. Scherer's time provisionally qualified her for the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championship in May. Jenna Kick aided St. Norbert's showing in the event with a fifth-place time of 40:35.30.

Ashley Graybill posted a pair of top-five finishes in the sprints. Graybill was second in the 200-meter dash with a time of 26.80 seconds. She added a fifth-place time of 13.84 seconds in the 100-meter dash.

Marisa Trakanovich was fourth in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 70.35 seconds. She also placed eighth in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 19.10 seconds.

St. Norbert's 4x400-meter relay team placed fifth with a time of 4:12.00.

Emily Sommers added a sixth-place finish in the javelin throw with a heave of 105 feet 9 inches.
