St. Norbert Picks Up MWC North Division Win Over Ripon

OSHKOSH - St. Norbert College opened Midwest Conference North Division play with a 9-0 win over Ripon College at the Oshkosh YMCA Tennis Center. The Green Knights also dropped a 9-0 non-conference decision to UW-Oshkosh.
St. Norbert did not lose a set to the Red Hawks. The Green Knights swept doubles play starting with an 8-6 win at No. 1 with Nick Acosta and Derek Harrington topping Sam Ewig and Eric Seiler 8-6. Costin Fink and Tim Hartwick beat Brian Schumacher and Alex Tande 8-3 at No. 2. Matt Lobeck and Josh Sweere beat Ryan Slowinski and Derrick Winterhack 8-2 at No. 3.
Harrington topped Seiler at No. 1 singles 6-0, 6-3, followed by a Hartwick win over Winterhack at No. 2 by a 6-3, 6-1 score. Lobeck beat Ewig 6-3, 6-0 at No.3, followed by Sweere's 6-0, 7-5 triumph over Tande at No. 4. Nate Gosz defeated Schumacher 6-2, 6-1 at No. 5, and Fink blanked Slowinski 6-0, 6-0 at No. 6.
Against UW-Oshkosh, Sweere was able to extended the Titans' Jason Alexander to three sets before losing 1-6, 6-3, 6-0.
