St. Norbert Rolls Past MSOE

MILWAUKEE - Top-ranked St. Norbert College jumped out to a 3-0 lead through 12 minutes and cruised to a 6-0 win over Milwaukee School of Engineering in a non-conference game at Kern Center. The Green Knights, ranked No. 1 in the USCHO.com Division III Poll, ran their unbeaten streak to 11 and are now 12-1-1. MSOE fell to 7-5.

Shane Wheeler scored a pair of markers 5:14 into the game, scoring at 2:47 and 5:!4 of the first, the latter a power-play goal. Jon Skoog scored his first goal of the season 11:21 of the first for a 3-0 lead. St. Norbert boosted its lead with a power-play goal in the second period by Matt Boyd, followed less than a minute later by a Cory Harder goal. Marc Belanger's power-play goal in the third period rounded out the scoring.

Wheeler finished with two goals and one assist for three points, Boyd one goal and two assists for three points, and Nick Tabisz three assists.

Kyle Jones made 16 saves for St. Norbert to register his 17th career shutout to extend his NCAA Division III rceord. The Green Knights outshot MSOE 43-16 and were 3-for-7 on the power play.
MSOE was just 0-for-3 on the power play, and Chris Keller made 37 saves for the Raiders.
