St. Norbert Tops Beloit

BELOIT - St. Norbert College remained unbeaten in Midwest Conference North Division action with an 8-1 win over Beloit College at the Strong Stadium Complex.
The Green Knights improved to 9-11 overall and 2-0 in the MWC North the with the win. Beloit fell to 0-4, 0-1.
St. Norbert swept all three doubles matches. Adrian Acosta and Ryan Kerswill won at No. 1, Chris Schmitz and Mike Hyrczyk at No. 2 and Eric Koppmann and Dan Richter at No. 3. All three tandems won by 8-4 scores.
The Green Knights then continued a solid afternoon winning five two-set matches in singles action.
Hyrczyk won at No. 1 singles, picking up a 7-5, 6-0 win over Steve Chun. Schmitz beat Sam Sturc 6-3, 6-2 and No. 2 action, while Acosta claimed a win at No. 3 over Matt Aslesen 6-4, 6-1.
Koppmann spun a shutout in the No. 5 spot, blanking Ricky Thorson 6-0, 6-0. Nate Tackaberry also won handily, picking up a triumph at No. 6 singles with a 6-2, 6-0 win over Parker Ogden.
