Kirchner Named Assistant Coach

DE PERE - Former Boston University standout Jillian Kirchner has been named an assistant coach for the St. Norbert College women's hockey program, head coach Rob Morgan announced.

Kirchner is a Frankfort, Ill., native and is a 2012 graduate of Boston University, where she played four years with the Terriers.

"Jillian will bring a broad range of playing and coaching experiences to our program," Morgan said. "I have known Jillian for seven years, as I tried very hard to recruit her to Dartmouth. She is going to fit in very well here at St. Norbert College and our program."

Kirchner finished her collegiate playing career in 2011, where she was the Terriers' second all-time leading scorer with 35 goals and 68 assists for 103 points. During her senior year, she was an assistant captain was was selected to the All-Hockey East team, as well as the Hockey East 10th Anniversary Team. Boston University reached NCAA Tournaments in 2010 and 2011, and finished as the national runner-up in 2011.

This past winter, Kirchner was selected by the Boston Blades of the Canadian Women's Hockey League, where they finished in third place. Kirchner has coached at the Cammi Granato Hockey School, Prom Ambitions Hockey School and the Brown Hockey Camp. She has also participated in numerous USA National Team Development camps.
