St. Norbert Splits Duals With Beloit and Lake Superior State

GREEN BAY - St. Norbert College split a pair of dual matches with Beloit College and Lake Superior State University at Green Bay Tennis Center. The Green Knights gained a Midwest Conference North Division win over the Buccaneers 7-2 before falling to the NCAA Division II Lakers 8-1.

The Green Knights (3-5, 1-0 MWC North) got the jump on the Buccaneers by getting two of three doubles points. Nancy Chybowski and Maria Slusarek topped Trina Capelli and Libby Storick at No. 1 by a 9-7 score. Ariel Bloniarz and Maggie Berens then beat Emma Koeppel and Maddy Carpenter 8-2 at No. 3.

Chybowski beat Capelli 7-6 (9-7), 6-3 at No. 1 singles, followed by Bloniarz's 6-3, 6-3 win over Maria Mears at No. 2. Slusarek defeated Storick 6-0, 6-1 at No. 3, and Berens topped Koeppel 6-1, 6-2 at No. 5. Dudzik claimed a 6-0, 6-2 win over Paola Schnabel at No. 6.

Bloniarz and Berens picked up St. Norbert's only win against Lake Superior State with an 8-5 win over Holly Daniel and Meagan Grey 8-5 at No. 3 doubles.
