St. Norbert Falls in Key MWC Match to Cornell

MOUNT VERNON, Iowa - St. Norbert College saw its Midwest Conference title hopes dashed on the final day of the regular season in a 3-0 loss to Cornell College at the Richard and Norma Small Multi-Sport Center.

The Green Knights (23-8, 9-1 MWC) fell to the Rams (18-10, 10-0 MWC) by a 25-18, 25-21, 25-23 score. Cornell won the league title and will host the MWC Tournament next weekend, while St. Norbert will be the No. 2 seeding.

St. Norbert couldn't get its offense on track, hitting just .165 for the match. The Green Knights had 32 kills with 12 errors in 121 attempts. Cornell dug out St. Norbert 72 times, with the Rams' Kylea Weber getting 25.

Danielle Remy had 15 kills with two errors in 36 attempts, and added three blocks. Catherine Guido finished with 23 digs, and Abby West added 29 assists.

Cornell hit .262, getting 45 kills with 12 errors in 126 attacks.
