St. Norbert Trims Lady Blues

DE PERE - St. Norbert College led from start-to-finish and cruised to a 65-39 win over Illinois College in a Midwest Conference game on Connie Tilley Court at Schuldes Sports Center.

The Green Knights (10-4, 7-2 MWC) forced the Lady Blues (5-9, 3-6) into a whopping 34 turnovers. St. Norbert scored 30 points off turnovers.

St. Norbert built a double-digit lead six minutes into the game, taking a 15-4 lead with 5 minutes 50 seconds elapsed in the first half on a pair of Morgan Heim free throws. The Green Knights held a lead in the teens until closing the last four minutes of the half on an 8-0 run to lead 35-13 at halftime.

Heim scored St. Norbert's first two baskets of the second half, the latter putting the Green Knights ahead 39-18 with 18:48 to go. St. Norbert never trailed by less than that margin the rest of the game.

Heim led the Green Knights with 12 points in 17 minutes of action. Lauren Carman added 10 points for the Green Knights, who played 20 players with 11 of them scoring. St. Norbert shot 39.1 percent (25-for-64) from the floor.

Tiffany King had 10 points to lead the Lady Blues, who compounded their ball security problems by shooting 29.8 percent (14-for-47) from the floor.
