Green Knights Place Second at St. Norbert Invite

WRIGHTSTOWN - St. Norbert College placed second among seven teams at the St. Norbert College Invitational held at Royal St. Patrick's Golf Links.

The Green Knights finished the 36-hole event with a 316-310--626 to finish four strokes behind Wisconsin Lutheran College, which shot 319-303--622. St. Norbert finished seven strokes ahead of third-place Carroll University, which shot 319-314--633.

St. Norbert's Nic Vrubley took medalist honors, recording a top score of 74-73--147 for a 3-over par total. He finished three strokes ahead of Wisconsin Lutheran's Sean Esenberg, who shot 75-75--150.

Sam Dougherty, golfing as part of the St. Norbert "B" squad, finished in a tie for third place with a 75-78--153. Nick Mueller was tied for sixth with a 78-77--155.

Joe Hansen and Nick Roelse, both with St. Norbert "B", finished in a tie for 14th place. Hansen shot an 84-75--159, while Roelse was 79-80--159.

Brandon Gries placed 18th with an 80-80--160, and Jacob Hebbard finished 21st with an 84-80--164. Evan Mass and Ben Socha, golfing for "B", finished in a tie for 22nd. Mass was 83-82--165, and Socha was 86-79--165. Ben Verbeten was tied for 24th with an 86-81--167.

Corey Carlson finished in a tie for 29th with an 84-85--169.
