Green Knights Weekend Split Highlighted by Win Over UW-Platteville

PLATTEVILLE - St. Norbert College posted a 2-2 record over the weekend at the UW-Platteville Tournament at Williams Fieldhouse.

The Green Knights (3-5) lost to Edgewood College 25-22, 25-17-25-16 before defeating Grinnell College 25-22, 25-17, 25-14 on Friday. St. Norbert then opened Saturday's action with a five-set heartbreaker to Millikin University 25-19, 25-14, 20-25, 23-25, 15-13. The Green Knights then rebounded to sweep Platteville 25-15, 25-22, 25-20, which marked St. Norbert's first win over the Pioneers since Oct. 14, 1989 to snap an eight-match losing streak.

St. Norbert struck the ball well against Platteville, hitting a robust .327 with 42 kills in 101 attempts against just nine errors. Breanne Brocker posted 13 kills, while Heidi Spies added 12. Aubree Antosch had 12 digs, while Abby West finished with 30 assists.

Against Millikin, Spies posted 13 kills and Brocker added 11. Antosch finished with 17 digs, while Katie Stewart added 13 and Brocker 12. West totaled 28 assists.

The Green Knights received seven kills apiece from Spies and Brocker in the loss to Edgewood. West had 22 assists, while Antosch had 20 digs and Brocker 13. Hannah Johnshoy also had 10 digs for the Green Knights.

St. Norbert's sweep by Grinnell was powered by 11 kills each from Spies and Brocker. Kaitlin Delahaut had 30 assists. Antosch and Brocker had 14 digs apiece.
