Vasilenko's Late Goals Lift St. Norbert Past Knox

DE PERE - St. Norbert College got a pair of goals late from Kirill Vasilenko to give the Green Knights a hard-fought 2-1 win over Knox College in a Midwest Conference match at Schneider Stadium.

The Green Knights (5-6-2, 4-1 MWC) trailed 1-0 when Knox was whistled for a handball in the penalty area at the 71:44 mark. Vasilenko took the penalty kick and converted to knot the score.

St. Norbert got the game-winner from Vasilenko when he took a pass from Brandon Buhr, turned and fired a strong strike to the far post at the 98:39 mark. Vasilenko now has a team-high six goals on the season.

Knox (11-3, 4-2) took the early lead when Nathaniel Logie scored on a header off a corner kick just 1:25 into the match.

St. Norbert held a 16-13 edge in shots. Sam Lisheron made six saves in net for the Green Knights to get the win. Sean Dockrell made six stops for the Prairie Fire.
