Own Goal Lifts St. Norbert to Win

OSHKOSH - St. Norbert College opened up the first day of the UW-Oshkosh Valley Cup with a 1-0 win over Nebraska Wesleyan University at Titan Stadium.

The Green Knights scored the only goal of the game at the 48:50. St. Norbert had a corner kick and the ball deflected off a Nebraska Wesleyan player into the goal for the marker.

The Prairie Wolves outshot the Green Knights 13-10, while St. Norbert held the edge in corner kicks 8-7. Nebraska Wesleyan had a slim edge in fouls, 19-18.

Noah Davis picked up the win in goal for St. Norbert, making three saves in the second half. Joe Schwartz made three saves in the first half. Josh Miller made six saves for Nebraska Wesleyan.

St. Norbert (2-0) faces Concordia (Ill.) University on Sunday in the second game of the Valley Cup. Concordia fell to host UW-Oshkosh 9-2 in Saturday's nightcap.
