St. Norbert Posts Shutout Win Over Lawrence

APPLETON - St. Norbert College rebounded from its first loss of the season with a 4-0 win over Lawrence University in a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association game at Appleton Family Ice Center.

The Green Knights (10-1, 7-0 NCHA) dominated puck possession, outshooting the Vikings 42-15, including 32-12 in the last two periods. St. Norbert goaltender David Jacobson made 15 saves for his 11th career shutout, moving him into fifth place on the NCAA Division III career shutouts list.

Following a scoreless first period, St. Norbert took the lead early in the second when Brandon Hoogenboom scored at 2:33 for his second goal of the season. Marian Fiala added his second goal of the year at 14:08 of the second period for a 2-0 lead.

The Green Knights went on a major power-play opportunity early in the third period, and St. Norbert capitalized to take a 3-0 lead on Cullen Bradshaw's fifth goal of the season at 1:27. Pijus Rulevicius closed out the scoring with a goal at 16:21, his fourth of the season.

Bradshaw added two assists for a three-point game, while Fiala added an assists for a two-point night.

St. Norbert was 1-for-6 on the power play, while Lawrence was 0-for-4. Anton Olsson made 38 saves for the Vikings, who racked up 45 penalty minutes.
