St. Norbert Gains Series Split With No. 5 UW-Stevens Point

STEVENS POINT - St. Norbert College salvaged a split with a home-and-home series with No. 5-ranked UW-Stevens Point with a 3-1 win in a non-conference game at Ice Hawks Arena.

Each team won on their opponent's ice after Stevens Point (12-2-1), ranked fifth in the USCHO.com Division III Poll, claimed a 3-1 win in De Pere on Friday. St. Norbert (6-5-1) scored a goal in all three periods to claim the win Saturday.

Stephanie Slinde scored her third goal of the season to give St. Norbert a 1-0 lead just 3:29 into the game on a goal with Henriette Ostergaard and Zoe Kurth assisting. The Pointers knotted the game at 1-1 on a Josie Johnson goal at the 13:13 mark of the first.

St. Norbert pulled ahead at the 11:19 mark of the second period on Rachel Koppang's sixth goal of the season, with Danielle Rozon getting an assist.

The Green Knights iced the game with an Ali Parker empty-net goal with 35 seconds left, with Kurth getting her second assist of the game. It was Parker's seventh goal of the season.

St. Norbert outshot Stevens Point 30-29. Katie Aluia made 28 saves for the Green Knights, while Janna Beilke-Skoug stopped 27 shots for the Pointers. St. Norbert was 0-for-1 on the power play, while the Pointers were 0-for-4.
