Late Power-Play Goal Gives St. Norbert Sweep of Oswego State

DE PERE - St. Norbert College collected a power-play goal by sophomore forward Lauren Roethlisberger with 3:53 remaining to claim a 3-2 win over Oswego State University to compete the non-conference series sweep at the Cornerstone Community Center's Resch Olympic Pavilion.

The Green Knights (8-5-1) got the game-winning when Roethlisberger jammed home a loose puck from the doorstep at the 16:07 mark of the third period for her fifth goal of the season. Oswego State (8-4-1) pulled its goaltender with 1:03 remaining, but the Lakers couldn't net the equalizer.

St. Norbert took a 2-0 lead in the game. Andera Senne scored her second goal of the season with a marker at 13:04 of the first period. Zoe Kurth then put the Green Knights up by a pair with a power-play goal at 12:14 of the second period.

The Lakers answered with a goal by Erika Truschke at 18:15 of the second period to halve the deficit by second intermission. Kendall Appelbaum's power-play goal at 8:15 of the third period tied the game.

St. Norbert outshot Oswego State by a 40-30 margin. The Green Knights were 2-for-3 on the power play, and 4-for-8 with the extra skater in the series. Oswego State was 1-for-4 on the power play.

Kaley Gibson made 28 saves for the Green Knights, while Tori Trovato made 37 stops for the Lakers.
