Green Knights Blank Finlandia for Series Sweep

DE PERE - St. Norbert College shutout Finlandia University for the second consecutive game in a 5-0 win to gain a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association series sweep at the Cornerstone Community Center's Resch Olympic Pavilion.

The Green Knights (10-5-2, 5-4-1 NCHA) jumped out to an early 3-0 lead and cruised to the win. Stephanie Slinde got the scoring started with a goal at 7:54, and Ali Parker netted her tenth goal of the season with a marker at the 15:00 mark. Andrea Senne scored a power-play goal at 17:28 for a 3-0 edge.

Slinde scored again, her sixth goal of the season, with a goal at 1:13 of the second period. Myranda Hayes closed out the scoring with a power-play goal at 12:21 of the second period.

Zoe Kurth finished with three assists for a three-point game.

St. Norbert outshot Finlandia 47-22. Katie Aluia made 22 saves to earn the shutout for the Green Knights. Breanna Hynes made 15 saves in the first period for the Lions, while Taylor Gustafson made 27 saves in 40 minutes of relief.

The Green Knights were 2-for-5 on the power play, while the Lions were 0-for-1.
