St. Norbert Unbeaten Streak Goes to Nine

DE PERE - St. Norbert College extended its unbeaten streak to nine games with a 7-1 win over Concordia University Wisconsin in a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association game at Resch Olympic Pavilion.

The Green Knights (13-5-2, 8-4-1 NCHA), 8-0-1 in their last nine games, jumped out to a 3-0 lead after the first period. St. Norbert got on the board when Laurel Hill scored at 16:06. Myranda Hayes followed 22 seconds later with her first goal of the season. Lauren Roethlisberger scored with 10 seconds left in the first period for a 3-0 advantage.

Concordia (6-12-1, 4-7-1) pulled to within 3-1 at 3:34 of the second period on a goal by Brandi Muller. Hayes answered at 8:30 with her second goal of the game and her fourth of the year. Stephanie Slinde notched a power-play goal at 17:16 for a 5-1 lead.

Zoe Kurth scored twice in the third period for the game's final two goals, netting markers at 6:45 and 14:28.

Kurth had one assist, and Slinde two helpers, for three-point games. Hill had an assist, while Megan Crandell, Danielle Rozon and Ali Parker all had two assists for two-point games.

Kaley Gibson made 23 saves for St. Norbert, while Jennifer DeGeorge made 24 stops for the Falcons in 46:45 of work. Bridget Slater made seven stops in 13:15 of relief.

St. Norbert was 1-for-2 on the power play, while Concordia was 0-for-5.
