St. Norbert Splits Pair of Dual Matches

GLENDALE - St. Norbert College split a pair of non-conference matches, topping Milwaukee School of Engineering 5-4 before falling to Cardinal Stritch University 8-1.

The Green Knights (1-4) swept doubles action against the Raiders to get an early 3-0 lead. Nate Gosz and Casey Brice topped Eric Klamrowski and David Gorodetsky 8-4 at No. 1, followed by an 8-6 win for Leon Gilman and Josh Sweere over Zachary Dam and Matt Slaughter at No. 2. Tim Hartwick and Ryan Schmit followed at No. 3 with an 8-4 triumph over Tom Smith and John Price.

Gosz nearly shutout Slaughter at No. 3 singles, gaining a 6-1, 6-0 win. Gilman then beat Reekah Delfanian 6-3, 6-1 at No. 4 singles.

Against Cardinal Stritch, St. Norbert picked up its lone win when Gosz and Brice defeated Ray Weich and George Watson 9-7 at No. 1 doubles.
