Green Knights Fifth After Day 1 of MWC Indoor Meet

MOUNT VERNON, Iowa - St. Norbert College is in fifth place in the team standings after the first day of the Midwest Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships at Cornell College.

St. Norbert has 33 points to reside in fifth place. Monmouth College has 61 points, while Grinnell College is second with 47 points. Carroll University is third with 45 points, and Cornell is fourth with 43 points.

St. Norbert's 1,600-meter sprint medley relay took second. Jaclyn Kerner, Jolene Kerner, Clarissa Jauregui and Brittany Kozlowski finished with a time of 4:14.32. In the 4x200-meter relay, Jaclyn Kerner, Erin Lang, Angel Hon and Mara Aparnieks were third in 1:48.46.

In the 5,000-meter run, Elvia Martinez finished fourth in 19:02.73, and Alyssa Price was sixth in 19:23.26. In the 1-mile run, Taylor Miller was seventh in 5:38.24. Charlotte Walsh was eighth in 5:39.79.

Grace Mickelson was sixth in the pole vault in 9 feet 10 1/2 inches, while Jenne Wiedemeier was seventh in 9-4 1/2. Kalee Luedtke was seventh in the long jump in 15-11 inches, while Brianna Bittner was eighth in 15-8 3/4.
