Green Knights Place Second at MWC Indoor Meet

MOUNT VERNON, Iowa - St. Norbert College finished second at the Midwest Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships held at Cornell College.

The Green Knights registered 135 points, finishing behind Monmouth College's 198 points. Grinnell College was third with 86 points.

Benny Swift won the conference title in he 800-meter run, finishing with a time of 1:57.07. Austin Livingston was fourth in 2:00.19, while Jake Schneider was eighth in 2:02.89.

The distance medley relay of Daniel Reigh, Andrew Hull, Tommy Zakowski and Nathan Heppe won the conference title with a time of 10:39.12. The 4x400-meter relay championship was claimed by the quartet of Akeem Edmonds, Taylor Pasterski, Austin Livingston and Andrew Hull in 3:26.89.

Randy Hill was second in the triple jump with a distance of 45-5, while Ryan Grandlic was eighth in 40-4 3/4.

Pasterski was third in the 400-meter dash with a time of 50.46 seconds, while Edmonds was seventh in 51.30 seconds. Hayden Hoffmann was fifth in the 3,000-meter run in 9:07.13, and Mike Linzmeier was seventh in 9:11.39.

Brad Boockmeier was fifth in the 60-meter hurdles in 8.81 seconds, followed by Jack Feuerstein in sixth at 9.02 seconds and Dan Sisler seventh in 9.24 seconds. Boockmeier finished third in the shot put at 14.77 meters.

Pasterski finished sixth in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.15 seconds. Feuerstein was sixth in the 200-meter dash in 23.18 seconds, while Tyler Lewis was seventh in 23.19 seconds.

Brennan Beachler finished seventh in the pole vault, clearing a height of 13-1 3/4. Joe McArdle was seventh in the weight throw with a toss of 46-4 3/4.
