Green Knights Fourth After Day 1 at MWC Championship

GRINNELL, Iowa - St. Norbert College finished the first day of competition at the Midwest Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championship in fourth place in the team standings.

St. Norbert totaled 38.20 points through seven of 20 events. Monmouth College leads with 68.40 points, while Grinnell College is second with 42 points. Ripon College is currently third at 39.20 points.

Hayden Hoffmann was St. Norbert's top performer on the day with a second-place finish in the 1,500-meter run. Hoffmann turned in a time of 4:02.50 to finish just under six seconds behind winner Dakota Pruitt of Carroll (3:56.61).

Dan Sisler and Randy Hill both placed highly in field events. Sisler was third in the long jump (6.65 meters), fifth in the high jump (1.90) and sixth in the pole vault (3.53). Hill was third in the high jump (1.95) and sixth in the long jump (6.51).

Brennan Beachler was fifth in the pole vault (3.83), while Jordan Baker was eighth (3.38). Baker was also part of a five-way tie for eighth place in the high jump at 1.80 meters.

Evan Broyles was seventh in the hammer throw (43.56) and eighth in the discus (40.89).
