DE PERE - St. Norbert College sophomore Brad Boockmeier named to the Capital One NCAA Division III Men's Track and Field/Cross Country Academic All-District VI squad, presented by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Boockmeier, a Green Bay native and a graduate of Green Bay Preble High School, holds a 3.83 grade point average with a major in mathematics. At the 2014 Midwest Conference Outdoor Championship, Boockmeier finished second in the javelin throw and third in the shot put. He finished in third place in the shot put and fifth place in the 60-meter hurdles at the 2014 MWC Indoor Championship.

An accomplished decathlete, Boockmeier would have qualified for the 2014 NCAA Division III Outdoor Championship in the decathlon but was an injury scratch. He finished as an All-American in the decathlon with an eighth-place finish in 2013, the only freshman to finish in the top eight.

Boockmeier is also a standout running back on the St. Norbert football team, leading the Green Knights in rushing this past fall with 812 yards and seven touchdowns in nine games.

To be eligible for national or regional selection, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 on a scale of 4.0, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standing at his current institution and be nominated by his sports information director. The Academic All-America team, scheduled to be announced June 24, is selected after All-District teams are picked from eight geographic regions nationally. All first-team Academic All-District honorees advance to the Academic All-America ballot.
