DE PERE - St. Norbert College women's volleyball coach Bethani Thibodeau has resigned, athletics director Tim Bald announced today.

Thibodeau, whose position is part-time, recently received a promotion in her full-time job with Acuity Insurance, resulting in her being unable to continue coaching the Green Knights.

"St. Norbert College certainly appreciates the effort Bethani gave to the volleyball program," Bald said. "The results she produced speak for themselves. Bethani made an impact on many student-athletes while she was here. We wish her well as she grows with Acuity and thank her for a great seven years."

Thibodeau compiled a 158-71 overall record in her seven seasons (2008-14) with the Green Knights, including a 49-7 mark in Midwest Conference matches. St. Norbert won MWC titles and participated in NCAA Division III Tournaments in 2008, 2009 and 2011. The Green Knights played in the Midwest Conference Tournament championship match in each of Thibodeau's seven seasons.

Thibodeau, the former Bethani Hyska, is a 1998 graduate of St. Norbert and was a four-year letterwinner in volleyball and a three-year letterwinner in basketball for the Green Knights. She was a two-time first-team All-Midwest Conference selection in both volleyball and basketball.

Bald said a search to fill the position will begin immediately.
