St. Norbert Trims Ripon 6-0

RIPON - St. Norbert College used three goals just more than three minutes apart midway through the first half en route to a resounding 6-0 win over Ripon College in a Midwest Conference men's soccer match at Prairie Field.

The Green Knights scoring onslaught began at the 24:41 mark when Adam Sanchez scored his seventh goal of the season off an assist from Ben Vanden Avond. The assist was Vanden Avond's eighth of the year.

Nick Hren scored unassisted at 26:29 for his first goal of the season, and was followed promptly at 28:09 on an unassisted score by Kevin Conrath. Conrath's score was his third of the year.

Tory Newberg scored his first goal of the season with a blast off a rebound at 39:06 for a 4-0 halftime lead.

Sanchez would score his eighth goal of the season at 83:03, followed by Nick Anderson's first score of 2008 just 53 seconds later. Newberg assisted on Anderson's goal.

Noah Davis recorded his second consecutive shutout, making three saves for St. Norbert.

St. Norbert outshot Ripon 30-6 and also held a 5-2 nod in corner kick opportunities.
